photos: mystery trip

I just touched down this morning from a 4-day trip organised by my company for its Annual Financial Year kickoff. We were told to fly into Beijing, dress warm and wear flat soles shoes. The whole arrangement was quite hush hush. No one knew what was the program for the kickoff, but we all assumed it would probably take place somewhere in Beijing.

We flew in on thursday, and spent a night near our office, and boarded the company chartered bus at around 10. What we didn’t expect was a long grueling butt-flattening 10 hour bus ride…

sunset.

Night view of that night’s acommodations. Its was pretty much dark by the time we arrived… around 7ish. We had a magnificent view of the night sky. I just wish I brought my tripod so I could shoot some star trails…

The bright spot is the moon

The next morning… look at the space available, and the tiny people got get an idea of the scale.

Yes, we were at the grasslands. A 10 hour bus ride brought us to the lovely (but shockingly freezing cold) inner mongolia region.

I didn’t really bring that much equipment with me, nor took many photos but it was indeed quite an experience visiting the grasslands. The air was fresh, and the sight of the expansive grasslands were soothing. I just wished we had better… or at least warmer accomodations … brrr…

The thing I need most now is … my bed, especially after a 6 hour+ return bus trip and a 6 hour delayed flight back to Singapore.

Album : James and Jessie

The forgetful me forgot to burn the album sample pages onto the CD for James and Jessie. A thousand apologies again. :( Anyway, they were fine with me posting the sample pages on my blog for them to go thru.

There’s still some more work to be done, including adding in the decorative touches to the pages. You can download the jpgs as a zip file from the link below.

Note: This post will be taken down or replaced with the album final version at a later date.

Weddings : James & Jessie

Here’s another wedding that I covered last week.

James and Jessie are a couple that started their courtship days while they were both in Victoria JC. They’ve been through much together, and finally tied the knot on the 15th of May.

Here’s the highlights of their wedding.

This is the express highlights that I did for them to be shown on the night portion of the wedding. Most of the photos are used in the slideshow above, but I used a different song, and of course, the express highlights are in black and white (with a brownish tint).

Congratulations James and Jessie

weddings : Hongteck and Shuhui

Sorry guys … more Japan photos coming up soon. First, a wedding.

Hongteck and Shuhui are a nice couple that got married just last sunday. And they are going to Japan for their honeymoon. The same cities that I had visited. I hope they are having lots of fun over there right now. Anyway, I was their photographer for that day. Here are some of the highlights of that day.

Congratulations to Hong Teck and Shuhui.

photos: Japan

Yup. I’m back from my Japan holiday. Actually I’ve been back for 2 weeks already, but I’m totally swamped with all the photos I’ve taken there. Japan is really a lovely place in Spring, and I’d like to shoot a pre-wedding there some day. (any volunteers ? :P) I do see myself heading back there again, maybe to catch the autumn leaves scenery, but probably not this year.

Anyway, here’s some of the photos taken.

Sakura at Osaka Castle.

Kyoto. Kiyomizo temple (if I remember correctly).

Took this from my hotel room in the early morning. Its actually pretty cold in the Kyoto/Awara Region.

Kenrokuen Garden, in Kanazawa. Sakura at the kyoto regions is not in full bloom yet, but its still lovely.

Yes… It snowed. Somewhere at the Hirayu Waterfall.

An onsen (hot springs) at the waterfalls. Its frozen due the the snow.

Here’s a shot of the famed Mt. Fuji. It was already evening when I reached the hotel, and I managed to get this shot. Its not everyday that we can get a clear view of Mt. Fuji.

More Mt. Fuji.

Tulips, with sleeping beauty’s castle in the background. Taken at Tokyo Disney.

Sunset, at Tokyo Disney. I loved the colours, so i took a quick shot.

Full bloom sakura, at Ueno Park. Its starting to get warm when we reached Tokyo, and the sakura trees there are mostly in full bloom. Ueno park has a path which has sakura trees blooming on both sides of the path, and plenty of picnic spots and local residents using it.

Thats Me… day 8.

Thats us. At Shinjuku Gyoen. The sakura here is also in full bloom. Although we do not have the walkway like Ueno park, the sakura here is really stunning.

The night view, seen from Tokyo Tower. You can see Rainbow Bridge (which is NOT rainbow coloured) and the ferris wheel at Odaiba.

Base view of the Tokyo Tower.

Flowers blooming outside the Sony Building at Ginza.

Thats all for now. I’ll go dig out some more and post them eventually. I need to get back to sorting out the photos and laying it out in an album for printing.
